In 2024 six children died in NYC from subway surfing, 5 died in 2023. These are primarily elementary and middle school children, often looking for followers on social media. New York Operation Lifesaver is proud to partner with the MTA on their Ride Inside Stay Alive campaign. Subway surfing will always be incredibly dangerous and no post is worth someone’s life.
We hope kids think about what their risking, their futures, and their impact on those that they love grief they’ll leave behind from those that love them.
